About Savvy Sourcing

We like sourcing.
It’s not so much a passion but an obsession.

Each member of our team has built up their procurement expertise over a long period of time, is a proficient networker and is well skilled in project management.

We are not passive order takers waiting idly for the phone to ring. We are firmly opposed to the notion that “one size or catalogue, fits all businesses and circumstances”. We embody and embrace adaptability and deep innovative thinking.

Our resourceful staff are motivated by effecting change for our clients. We operate a detailed and high service model not ordinarily found in our industry. Our product portfolio extends beyond the conventional offerings. And we willingly and routinely, tackle procurement challenges that other enterprises have shied away from. We run a small, tight and lean business and pass all savings of that model to our clients. As a consequence we are rarely beaten on price.

The Savvy Team

Meet the Savvy Sourcing team. We're always here to answer your calls and emails promptly. When you reach out, you'll have direct access to our senior team leaders and our Director, ensuring you receive the best possible service.

John Clifford

DIRECTOR

John started sourcing from China when bicycles were the most used mode of intercity transport by the local Chinese population. He has attended a dozen Canton Fairs, been to most manufacturing regions, knows the high speed train system along with dozens of cities well and has inspected over a 100 factories supplying approx. 20 plus different industries involving dozens of different manufacturing disciplines. He is a chartered accountant, his formal training and curiosity have helped him develop a deep understanding of manufacturing systems, what they use (materials and labour skills), which together allows him to better examine and determine appropriate product specifications and navigate around product risks.

Nicholas Francis

MANAGER & PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Nic is a devotee to “process” and has a strong commitment to “service”. Service to his client’s, his family and national security as an armed forces reservist officer. Discipline of process, honed, developed and refined over decades of procurement and product enhancement transactions. He is dedicated to his job, has a mature and complete attention to detail.
He is an experienced manager who personally overseas (with the help of the team) all product procurement and all the other pieces of our operation.

Nic’s hand has been on every product we procure at some point in each product’s lifecycle. When it’s not directly on a product, it’s near it, through the processes and specifications he has established and personally monitors others to perform as required. This allows him to deliver high returns and reliability for our client’s and achieve efficient volumes for the business.
He implacably understands that the businesses’ client relationship relies on trust built through transparency, acting in the client’s best interests (buyers agent not wholesale seller), ample targeted but not overloaded client interaction, at the right times, underlined by a desire to get the best results.

Sameer Chatterjee

PROJECT MANAGER

Sameer is an exceptional communicator and networker, making him one of the most amicable members of our team. His strong interpersonal skills, combined with his thoroughness and organisational abilities, make him ideally suited for his role in operations management, which encompasses procurement, supplier relations, freight logistics, customs, and problem-solving. Sameer ensures that all procurement processes function seamlessly and efficiently. His role requires a profound understanding of cultural differences and the ability to build trust across different barriers. He adeptly monitors and manages foreign exchange rate risks while juggling shipping schedules. Additionally, he possesses the expertise to navigate customs regulations, duties, and administrative processes across various jurisdictions. Sameer also maintains relationships with multiple service providers, collaborates with factories and diverse teams, and effectively manages the complexities of different time zones and conflicting schedules. His ability to simultaneously anticipate future needs while considering past experiences is truly remarkable.
